from the Board Chair
As Chair of the Board, it is a true honor to help shape the future of Deutsche Schule Kobe International. DSKI has a long and unique history that began more than a century ago. Founded as a purely German school in 1909, historical challenges over the years have led the school to continuously reinvent itself. Today, it stands as a vibrant, multilingual community.
I am personally inspired by the dedication of our teachers and the unwavering support of our parents. I am deeply committed to doing my part in helping DSKI grow into one of the best international schools in the country.
In recent years, my focus has been on increasing the transparency of the Board’s work with both parents and teachers. I aim to promote consistent, open communication to ensure our school continues to evolve and improve. Additionally, I believe DSKI has the potential to strengthen its connection to its German roots—while continuing to embrace and celebrate families from all backgrounds.
Together with our dedicated leadership and teaching teams, we are committed to investing our time and energy to ensure that our students receive an excellent education with personalized support in a warm and welcoming environment.

Dear Parents, dear Students, dear Friends of DSKI,
It is a great joy and honor for me to take on the role of Principal at Deutsche Schule Kobe International.
DSKI is a school with an impressive history and a clear vision for the future – international, warm-hearted, and full of potential.
In the coming years, we have exciting tasks ahead of us: We aim to further develop our school, with the goal of offering a secondary school program as well. At the same time, we are working towards rejoining the network of the Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen (ZfA), in order to strengthen our connection to the German educational landscape.
I am convinced that, together with a dedicated team, trusting parents, and curious students, we can successfully shape this next chapter.
My personal mission is to create a learning environment where children not only acquire knowledge but also develop self-confidence, creativity, and a sense of responsibility – with heart, mind, and hands.
I look forward to the upcoming conversations, encounters, and to shaping the future of DSKI together with all of you.

I believe in leading with heart, listening carefully, and creating a learning environment where every child feels safe, seen, and inspired.
