& Mathematics Education

The growing influence of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) on teaching and learning is a key factor in education today. At DSKI, we integrate STEM into our curriculum to provide students with a holistic education that fosters innovation and problem-solving. Through coding, robotics, 3D modeling, and more, students gain hands-on experiences in each STEM area, ensuring they are well-prepared for their digital and academic futures.

Science Experimentation, Inquiry

In our Science curriculum, students explore the natural world through experimentation and inquiry.bThey learn to ask questions, develop hypotheses, and conduct investigations to test their ideas.bScience encourages curiosity and critical thinking, as students gain a deeper understanding of thebprocesses that shape the world around them. Through lab work and field studies, students engagebin biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science, applying their knowledge to solve realworldbproblems. This solid foundation in scientific principles prepares students for advancedbstudies and future careers in STEM fields.

Coding

In our Science curriculum, students explore the natural world through experimentation and inquiry. They learn to ask questions, develop hypotheses, and conduct investigations to test their ideas. Science encourages curiosity and critical thinking, as students gain a deeper understanding of the processes that shape the world around them. Through lab work and field studies, students engage in biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science, applying their knowledge to solve realworld problems. This solid foundation in scientific principles prepares students for advanced studies and future careers in STEM fields.

Digital Arts

Students express their creativity using professional art applications like Procreate and Canva. While digital arts are often seen as a form of creative expression, they also engage students in problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical skills that align with STEM principles. Through designing graphics and creating digital content, students learn the technical aspects of visual communication, merging artistic vision with modern technology.

Internet Safety

In the digital age, it is essential to understand how to use technology responsibly. Through lessons on internet safety, students learn not only how to protect their information but also the mathematical concepts behind encryption, security, and data protection. This aspect of the curriculum builds students’ awareness of how technology impacts society and their role in using it responsibly and ethically

ChromeOS and iOS

Students will gain proficiency in Google Suite and iOS applications to enhance their learning. These platforms are essential tools in the modern world and contribute to their understanding of digital literacy, which is a fundamental skill in STEM fields. Through these tools, students learn how to organize, analyze, and present data—skills directly applicable to mathematics and many areas of science.

Engineering3D Modelling, Robotics, Digital Design

3D Modeling

We introduce the fundamentals of 3D modeling, allowing students to experience the world of engineering. By creating models and prototypes, students learn about design processes, spatial awareness, and problem-solving strategies. This hands-on approach connects theory with practice, helping students understand how engineers bring ideas to life. The experience also nurtures creativity, as students reimagine and improve their designs while learning technical skills that are valuable in future careers.

Robotics

Students apply their coding and motor skills to build robots using LEGO and other child-friendly toolkits. Robotics brings together science, technology, and engineering to solve real-world problems. By building robots and programming them to perform tasks, students not only learn about the mechanics of machines but also how to apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations. This fosters teamwork, collaboration, and innovation—essential aspects of engineering.

Digital Design

We teach the fundamentals of digital design and help students improve their presentation skills through efficient use of digital media. Digital design is an essential part of engineering, as it requires the ability to communicate ideas visually and solve design problems. This part of the curriculum allows students to develop both their creativity and technical abilities, learning how to use design software to create solutions and improve user experience.

Hardware for Innovation

Students have access to cutting-edge technology, including 3D printers, drones, laptops, and iPads. These tools provide practical experience in using the latest technology for innovation and invention. By interacting with hardware, students gain an understanding of the engineering behind the devices they use and learn how to leverage technology to create solutions to real-world problems.

Mathematical Applications
in IT

Mathematics plays a crucial role in understanding coding, robotics, and digital design. Through computational thinking and data analysis, students apply mathematical concepts to create efficient algorithms, develop encryption methods for internet security, and optimize digital designs. Mathematics helps students analyze patterns, understand geometry in 3D modeling, and work with measurements in engineering projects.

Digital Portfolios

Students can share their portfolios with family members worldwide through our digital portfolio system. This platform allows students to track and reflect on their learning journey across STEM subjects. It encourages them to assess their own work, develop organizational skills, and communicate their progress effectively. Students also learn about data management, presentation skills, and the mathematical aspects of digital organization, which are valuable across all disciplines.

The Impact of STEM
on Learning

STEM transforms teaching and learning, enabling students to investigate, create, communicate, collaborate, and take responsibility for their own learning. Our STEM curriculum encourages students to make meaningful connections across subjects, helping them develop a deeper understanding of how STEM relates to their daily lives. Through the use of hands-on activities and real-world applications, students cultivate critical and creative thinking skills, engage in inquiry, and apply their knowledge and skills in a variety of contexts, preparing them for future success in the everevolving STEM fields.
